How to make things work out

Things don’t always work out, sometimes things don’t go the way we want.

High school is hard, school, the age, problems, life crises (involving hair, but also other more serious matters…like more hair…just joking, but my hair does have a crisis like every other day….)
I am in high school, which even though in Israel, is MUCH easier than the USA and no one plans on going to college or anything….it’s still a lot of work.

Anyway, by me, I don’t like the way things are, in certain places.
But you know what? I can’t change me friend/neighbor/parent/sister/brother
But I CAN change me.

A story is told about a Rav (Salanter?) He wanted to change the world, as he got older he saw that wasn’t possible, so he wanted to change his city, he got older and saw that goal was still too big for him and he decided he wanted to change his friends and family.

Finally he realized one can only change themselves and the way they react to certain situations.

Ex. My sister’s friend feels torn between my sister’s group and another group in the class.
So I told her, she can’t make the girl come to their group…
They CAN make her feel comfortable, be nice, save her a place, don’t be upset if chooses not to sit there, share snack, ask if she wants to hang out, and even if she chooses to not be in their group, she can still do all that. For herself….
